THE IDEA · ABOUT PIPS
Roll, cheat, bribe.
In Pips you sit in a tavern and challenge its guests. At every table you roll for points: five dice, keep or reroll, then fill a row on the score sheet – from three of a kind to a large straight. You share the sheet with your opponent. Whatever one of you enters is gone for the other.
Playing honestly won’t get you far. So you secretly reroll or turn a die one pip further. Every trick raises the innkeeper’s suspicion. If a trick goes unnoticed, your thrill – and your score – grows. Get caught and only a bribe can save you. Otherwise you’re thrown out.
Between tables you choose your path across the tavern map, buy new items from the forest witch, buy guests a beer and forge your own loaded dice in the dice forge. Every run is different, and whatever you unlock carries over to the next one.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Frequently asked questions about Pips
What kind of game is Pips?
Pips is a single-player roguelite built around dice. You play runs through a tavern, roll against a guest for points at every table and try to make it to the innkeeper. Fail, and you start over – with everything you have unlocked.
Do you have to cheat in Pips?
You don’t have to – but the table targets are set so that honest play rarely lasts a whole night. The question isn’t whether you cheat, but when, and how far you push the innkeeper’s suspicion.
What happens if you get caught?
Getting caught doesn’t mean instant expulsion: you can bribe the innkeeper with your items and keep playing. If you can’t or won’t pay, the run is over.
Which platform is Pips coming to?
Pips is being developed for PC, with Steam planned. There is no release date yet. Pips is a working title.
